I have a confession to make -- I am a dog mom, and I don’t care who knows it. Sometimes I treat my pup better than I treat myself. I know this is a story about finding doggie gifts for the dog lover in your life, but I wanted to be honest with you. That way you’ll understand why I love some of these dog-related gifts so much. I am always on the lookout for ways I can spoil my pooch even more than he already is, so I want to help you do the same. Whether you are looking to treat yourself, someone else, your dog, or theirs, here are some of the best gifts for dog lovers that I could find.
Gifts that Will Make Your Pup’s Tail Wag
Did you know that you can get a Bacon scented bubble maker? That might be a good gift for everyone on your list, dog parent or not! Or you can get a peephole window for your wooden fence so that your dog can see what’s on the other side. You can also get breed-specific gifts like magnets, artwork, pillows, or mugs. A thoughtful gift gives back to community service organizations, like a Canine for Veterans toy gift bucket with proceeds going to an organization that trains dogs to be well-mannered companions for veterans. Fun, unique gifts like this will earn you extra points with your friends and their pooches!
Bark-Worthy Books
Another good line of gifts for dog lovers is a book about their favorite four-legged friend. There are several fun and interesting books about dogs and their place in our lives, such as “Dogs of Instagram” or “Maddie On Things,” which features a lovable coonhound with excellent balancing skills whose owner traveled around the country photographing her on various things including other animals, pieces of architecture or machinery, and even fruit. You have to see it to believe it! Other excellent photo books include “Underwater Dogs” and “The Dogist Book,” just to name a few. Go to your local bookstore and ask about their pet-related section. You can be sure to find something funny, thoughtful, or both that your favorite dog lover will enjoy.
Gifts That Keep on Giving
If more action-oriented gifts are your thing, look no further than doggie-related items like collapsible water bowls or interactive food bowls. You can find “wipe your paws” doormats at several stores, along with various interesting toys and chew toys, blankets, and pet pajamas or coats. If you’re an active dog owner who likes to take your pup with you, a dog bike trailer could be a terrific gift. Just be sure to review a trailer’s features, size, and weight restrictions before buying. One of my favorites is a custom pet pillow with a picture of your dog on it. If you’re wanting to gift an ongoing present, consider a monthly gift service such as BarkBox or Paw Pack.
As you can see, there are several really unique and interesting pet-themed gifts out there, for your dog or the dog lover in your life. There’s no excuse for going bland or boring when you can go inspired and inspirational with your gift-giving. Besides, you can be sure to find the perfect item if you do a little digging online. Surprise gifts are the best kind, so what are you waiting for?
