Candy Cane Chocolate Cheesecake Dip (gluten free)

I think this would work with any candy! Just eliminate the peppermint extract. Creamy, quick and delicious... and much better chilled overnight- if you can wait! I like it with oreos or chocolate covered pretzels, but be creative! Graham Crackers, cookies, pretzels, it's all fabulous!
Ingredients:
- 8oz (one brick) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1/4 t peppermint extract
- 8 oz container cool whip
- 1 cup crushed candy canes (or pick a candy you like)
- 1/4 cup chopped or mini dark chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Using a stand mixer or food processor, beat the cream cheese until smooth
- add sugar and peppermint extract, beat until smooth
- add the cool whip, beat until combined
- fold in the candy canes and chocolate chips
- Chill until ready to serve
